Essential Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Oversee and complete all projects as assigned, including the research and implementation of new accounting guidance and guidance related to new procedures or new business lines, and keep management apprised of critical issues.
  • Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development appraisal and work assignments of staff.
  • Maintain the general ledger (GL); assist other departments in understanding how their processes impact the GL; work with departments on the design/ implementation of procedural changes and new/enhanced products/software related to the GL; ensure proper accounting procedures are followed.
  • Review and approve daily reconciliations, daily system proofs, and journal vouchers, and ensure communication with proper personnel has occurred.
  • Review and approve monthly and quarterly entries, supporting documents, and associated reconciliations. Review and approve tables, roll-forwards, reports, and additional support prepared by staff for financial and regulatory reporting, tax return and provision, department budgets, and management.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for financial and regulatory reporting, tax return and provision, department budgets, and management.
  • Review quarterly and annual financial reports to help ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, and workflows are properly documented.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
